Rally Refund, Credit & Limited Support Policy

(for Homeward Bound, Azores and Caribbean Rallies)

Refund Policy:

If you register and pay for a rally and need to cancel, refunds will be issued as follows:

  • More than 30 days before departure: A refund of rally fees, less a $50 processing fee.

  • Within 30 days of departure: No refunds are available. Unrefunded fees may be considered a donation to SDSA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Please consult your tax advisor regarding deductibility.

  • If the rally is canceled, rally fees will be fully refunded.

Limited Support (Departure within 30 Days):

If you do not depart with the rally fleet in one of the first two official weather windows, Limited Support will be available for 31 days beyond the published departure date. (Review details about weather windows here

Limited Support is available for vessels departing late but still sailing to the intended Rally destination along the Rally route. Limited Support includes:

  • Continuing GW Medical Coverage

  • SDSA Mobile App availability for all crew

  • 24/7 Availability of Shoreside Support and Emergency Response, if needed, upon request.  However, Shoreside Support will not actively track the vessel.

  • No SDSA-provided weather routing. (Vessels must secure their own weather routing)

  • The Vessel may still be followed by friends and family on the SDSA Tracking Map (as a completed vessel)

*All Limited Support ends 31 days past the published rally departure date, even if the vessel remains offshore and no refunds or credits will be issued to vessels benefiting from Limited Support.

Rally Credit for Unexpected Circumstances (Departure after 30 Days):

If you are delayed more than 30 days beyond the actual rally departure date, due to an unexpected medical issue or equipment failure and are therefore not eligible for Limited Support, you may be eligible for a 50% credit toward a future Salty Dawg rally, to be used within one year.
