SALTY DAWG RALLIES

Hosting blue water rallies in the U.S. and Caribbean is one of our specialties. Each rally is an opportunity for sailors to cruise-in-company, with the safety, camaraderie, and passage-preparation assistance that a rally can provide. Check out this impressive list.

  • Fall Rally – from the US to the Caribbean – rally leaves in early November from Hampton, VA and ends in the Caribbean or  Bahamas.  Learn from demonstrations, seminars, and briefings to help in passage preparation and cruise planning. Meet new friends and re-unite with old ones.
  • Spring Rally – from the Caribbean to a US port or Bermuda. Rally leaves the Caribbean in mid May.
  • Rally to Maine– Departs from the Chesapeake Bay and Newport, RI areas to arrive in Rockland, Maine in mid July. An optional rally extends the summer cruise to the Atlantic Coast of Nova Scotia and the Bras D’Or Lakes.
  • Great Lakes Rally to the Chesapeake Bay – With increasing numbers of Great Lakes sailors joining the Salty Dawg Fall Rally to the Caribbean, we have added a rally from Toronto. The rally will follow a route across the Great Lakes, through the New York Lock System, down the Hudson River, through New York Harbor, and into the Chesapeake Bay.

The SDSA unites experienced ocean sailors with developing cruisers to broaden their blue water horizons. All Salty Dawg rallies and events are led by seasoned sailors who volunteer their time and knowledge to help cruisers realize their dreams … safely.

If you would like to join us as a volunteer, we would love to benefit from your passion, personality, and expertise as we plan future events. Click here to volunteer.
