Covid-19 Policy for participation in 2022 SDSA rallies

All participants in SDSA rallies and events must show proof of full vaccination according to current CDC guidelines.

  • A person is fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving all recommended doses in the primary series of their COVID-19 vaccination, including recommended boosters.
  • It is expected that this fall there will be a booster available designed to specifically target the BA.5 variant and all rally participants are encouraged to have had this in advance of departure.

Note that these requirements are in place purely for crew safety while at sea and are not a reflection of policies in place at our destination countries.  According to the CDC the risk of hospitalization and death is greatly reduced among those who are fully vaccinated, especially in older individuals and those with certain risk factors.

These requirements are limited to participation in our offshore rallies, not shoreside events, and will be revisited from time to time as circumstances require.
