See this link for Gris event calendar. There’s plenty to do in the area so feel free to stick around for a while. The Essex Yacht Club is located on the CT River about 5 miles up from Long Island Sound and about 25 miles from Block Island. Bob is currently the president of the Salty Dawg Sailing Association, a group dedicated to helping cruisers develop blue water skills and organizes the largest rally to the Caribbean from the US east coast. The 2022 Salty Dawg rally to the Caribbean was the largest yet with more than 120 boats heading south, to the Bahamas or Caribbean, with most heading to Antigua. Many cruisers visit Essex each summer, a quintessential new England town. In addition to discounted moorings, there is plenty of space to anchor in the river, opposite the club. And nearby Hamburg Cove is less than a mile away and a great spot to enjoy time swimming in fresh water. Visit this link to sign up for the event. Space is strictly limited so don’t delay.
